Poswal calls on Amit Shah, discusses problems of Gujjar, Bakerwal

NEW DELHI,  Apr 7: Eshfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal, national executive member of the ST Morcha of the BJP, today called on the BJP national president Amit Shah and discussed with him several issues being faced by the Gujjar and Bakerwal communities of J&K.
In the meeting Poswal highlighted poor implementation of Tribal Sub Plan in the State due to which the backward Gujjar and Bakerwal communities are not getting the benefit as envisaged under the plan.
He also demanded from the National President that a mechanism be put in place so that the benefit of the Tribal Sub Plan percolates down to the desired lot.
He also brought to the notice of Amit Shah that unemployment is the major issue being faced by the youth of Gujjar and Bakerwal communities. “The Central and the State Governments must take steps to provide employment to the youth of these communities”, Poswal demanded.
“The youth of these communities do not have access to higher education as the people keep on moving from one place to another”, Poswal said and demanded that a policy should also be framed so that youth of these communities get proper education”.
He also demanded that Gujjars and Bakerwals should be given due representation in the State Government which has so far been denied. Poswal also demanded that these communities have suffered have losses during recent rains in the State and therefore, adequate compensation be provided by assessing the actual losses.
