Backward Classes Union alleges discrimination

JAMMU, Aug 7: All India Backward Classes Union (Social) has alleged discrimination with the members of this group in the State and issued appeal to them to get united at one platform.
The union members during meetings at Kathua, Billawar and Samba alleged that OBCs have been deprived of their rights in the State. They said the people from various political parties including NC only exploiting them for the vote bank. They said the population of this group in the State was highest yet they have been ignored in many fields.
They pointed out that on the name of RBA and ALC, huge benefit is being given in the State by some people while OBCs are being deprived of the right which they deserve as per population. Even the interlocutors in their report have recommended apex courts’ reservation  rules for the State but the State Government was not serious.
Prominent among those who addressed meetings included Abdul Majid Malik, Puran Verma, Capt Tara Chand, Prof Kali Dass, Mouj Sharan, Santokh Chand, Prof Sudershan and Vir Paul.
