JAMMU, Aug 7: The Welfare Committee of Lane No. 2, Anand Nagar, Bohri, held a meeting here today and discussed grievances faced by them.
The meeting expressed resentment that despite their area falls within the municipal limits of Jammu city, the area is connected to the rural electric grid station leading to erratic power supply, lower voltage and frequent power cuts.
Most of the street lights are not in working condition, due to which the people particularly the ladies cannot venture into the streets during late hours, they added.
Though a sweeper is posted in the area, yet the deep drain connected to the sever-line remains unattended leading to accumulation of filth and choking of drains, they said.
The Committee members said that PHE Department has recently laid a 4-inch GI Pipe in the lane and the excavation material was filled in a most unprofessional manner due to which ditches and potholes appeared on the road creating inconvenience to the public and aged in particular.
The Committee requested the concerned authorities to redress their grievances immediately.
