SRINAGAR, Aug 7: Annual General Meeting (AGM) of National Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Banks Federation Ltd (NCARDB) was held under the chairmanship of Minister of State for Cooperatives Dr Manohar Lal Sharma here today.
The meeting was attended by over 40 delegates and members of various States of the country.
During the meeting several issues were discussed and decisions taken for promotion of cooperative and rural agriculture activities in the State.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister appreciated the role of NCARDB Federation for revival of State Co-operative Agriculture Rural Development (SCARD) Banks in the country. He assured Government’s full support to the cooperative movement in particular to J&K SCARD Bank. He said State Government has taken several measures for revival of cooperative movement in the State. He suggested some measures for survival of all SCARD Banks all over the country and suggested NCARDB Federation to take up the issue of revival of State Banks with Centre Government and NABARD. He impressed upon NABARD authorities to restore re-finance J&K SCARD Bank.
The Managing Director NCARDB Federation apprised the Minister about the presentation of Managing Director/CEO of J&K SCARD Bank, Mohd Aslam Bhat.
On the occasion, 137th board meeting of NCARDB was also held, besides the federation also organized 2 day workshop on “Risk Management of NCARDB”, in which the Members deliberated on the topic and gave their valuable suggestions for revival and development of of SCARD Banks in the country.
