JAMMU, Apr 10: Today, newly renovated premises of Canara Bank Main Branch, Karan Bhawan Shalamar Road Jammu was inaugurated by Dr Mandeep K Bhandari, CEO, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Katra.
Sunil Joshi ex- International Indian Cricketer and an employee of Canara Bank Head Office graced the occasion with their presence C G Saha, DGM, Circle Head, Canara Bank Jalandhar Circle welcomed the Chief Guest, staff members and all the customers of the bank.
The occasion also had in attendance Dr Sohan Lal, AGM, Canara Bank Circle Office Jalandhar, Rakesh Ranjan, Chief Manager, Canara Bank Shalamar Road Jammu, S.K. Bhanu Divisional Manager, Canara Bank, RAH, Jammu.
C G Saha informed the customers about the rich history of Canara Bank which was started in 1906 by A Subbarao Pai in a small village of Mangalore and now has grown as a big tree with its more than 5500 branches, 10000 ATM’s, 50000 + staff strength and a total business of over Rs 8 lacs crores.
He also threw light on the performance of the Jammu Branch which started in 1981 and shifted the present premises at Karan Bhawan Shalamar Road Jammu in 1987 and today boasts of a business of over Rs 250 crores.
S K Bhanu thanked all the customers and the dignitaries on the dias for their presence.
