Anayat Ali raises issue of pending Treasury bills

JAMMU, Apr 10: PDP member from Kargil Haji Anayat Ali today raised the issue of pending bills of contractors and pensioners worth crores of rupees in Govt Treasury, Kargil, in the Legislative Council today.
Minister for Finance Dr Haseeb Drabu while responding claimed that in Kargil Treasury the payments on account of object head contractor / firms, have been cleared / authorized up to 31-12-2014 along with all the treasuries of J&K.
However as on 13-03-2015 bills to the tune of Rs 5.50 crores on this account were pending in the said Treasury. There are no bills pending on a/c of pensioners in the District Treasury Kargil as on 13-03-2015, he maintained.
Dr Darbu further replied that the pending bills on account of object head contractor/firms will be cleared as and when the resource position of the State improves.
Responding to another question of Anayat Ali with regard to PMGSY roads, the minister incharge R&B, in written reply said that the Detailed Project Reports for 22 new schemes of Kargil district have been submitted to the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India under PMGSY phase X. Sanction for these projects is still awaited.
