Project ‘Operation Eye Sight’ launched

UDHAMPUR, Apr 10: A team of ‘Operation Eye Sight’ (OES) project from Hyderabad today visited Rotary Eye Hospital Udhampur and launched the operation in the district in a function held here to remove blindness completely from six clusters chosen from Chenani.
The team was headed by Kashinath Bhoosnurmath (Senior Director: International Programme for Asia and Africa – Operation Eye Sight), Dr Santosh Moses (Country Manager India – OES) and Dr Harish Kumar (Programme Manager – OES).
Regarding establishment of OES unit, an impressive inaugural function was held in the conference hall of Rotary Eye & ENT Hospital Udhampur with lighting of traditional lamp by chief guest Kashinath Bhoosnumath and chairman, Rotary Hospital, DN Sharma, president, Rotary Club Udhampur, Prof PL Suri and Rajendra Sanson.
The inauguration of a unit of OEU in Hospital was also done by the chief guest.
In the inaugural address, the chief guest appreciated the efforts of Rotary Club Udhampur and assured his full support to the organization in future for prevention of blindness so that poor people of the area may not loose their vision for lack of eye care facility.
Members of Rotary Club who attended the function were VS Raja, Kamal Gupta, Rajeev Gupta, Jugal K Gupta, Surjeet Singh, Krishan Gopal Sharma, Geeta Raja and Inner Wheel Club members– Nisha Sharma, Neelam Baigra, Manju Baru, Parveen Chopra, Mohini Baigra, Dr Anu and Project Coordinator, Gulzar Ahmed Khan with Community Health Workers.
