Samohik Yagnopavit performed at Geeta Satsang Ashram

JAMMU, Apr 10: Samohik Yagnopavit ceremony of 17 boys were performed at Kumar Ji Geeta Satsang Ashram. The two day long religious function started on Wednesday evening and culminated with Puranahuti late last night.
The devotees were served with Prashad after the culmination of function. Hundreds of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu attended the function. A Bhajan Kirtan was also performed in the Ashram and Swami Kumar Ji gave religious discourses and highlighted the significance of Yagnopavit Sanskar among the Hindus.
Swami Ji said Yagnopavit is one of the sacred Sanskars in Hindus. He said a Brahmin is incomplete without wearing this sacred thread which enforces certain bindings on him.
BJP general secretary (Org) Ashok Kaul was chief guest on the occasion who blessed the boys. The function was also attended by Dr K L Choudhary, Ashok Ji Koul chairman RDS and other social and religious activists.
Swami Ji said his Ashram has so far performed Yagnopavit ceremony of hundreds of boys and the Ashram has taken it a onus to shoulder this responsibility in near future also.
