3509 cases disposed off in National Lok Adalats

JAMMU, Apr 11: National Lok Adalats for labour and family matters were held across the State at High Court, District and Tehsil levels under the patronage of Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar, Chief Justice, High Court of J&K and Patron-in-Chief J&K State Legal Services Authority, Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, Judge, High Court of J&K and Executive Chairman, J&K State Legal Services Authority.
A total of 3509 cases were disposed off in the National Lok Adalat which includes 3031 number of  labour and  478 number of  family matters and an amount of Rs 57,17,080 was settled  in labour and amount of  Rs 1,156,75 was settled  in family matters.
A National Lok Adalat was held in District Court Complex Janipur under the directions of Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, Executive Chairman, SLSA in which Chairman of District Legal Services Jammu RS Jain constituted five benches in which 90 cases were settled.
At Samba, National Lok Adalat was held today in the District Court Complex Samba under the chairmanship of Chairman District Legal Services Authority Samba (Principal District and Sessions Judge) Inder Singh. About 83 labour cases were taken up by the bench in which 49 cases were settled and fine of Rs 99,700 was realized on spot.
At Ramban, National Lok Adalat was held under the chairmanship of District Legal Service Authority Ramban, Rajesh Sekhri at District Court complex Ramban and Court Complex Batote. As many as 11 matrimonial matters under section 488 CrPC and 144 pre-litigation labour cases have been settled at Ramban and two matrimonial matters under Section 488 CrPC were settled at Batote.
A National Lok Adalat has been held in district court premises at Udhampur, Ramnagar, Chenani and Majalta. A total of 210 cases were taken up out of which 68 cases were settled. A fine of Rs 22,000 has been imposed in labour cases.
At Reasi, a National Lok Adalat was organized under the chairmanship of KS Parihar, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority. A total of 118 cases were taken up out of which 17 cases were settled.
At Rajouri, a National Lok Adalat was held at District Court Complex under the chairmanship of Sanjay Gupta, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority. A total of 58 cases were disposed off and an amount of Rs 10,000 was settled.
A National Lok Adalat was held in the District Court Complex, Kathua under the chairmanship of Vinod Chatterjii Koul, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Kathua.
15 cases were decided on spot and award money to the tune of Rs 19,85000 was ordered to be paid to the claimants and recovered fine Rs 43000.
At Bandipora, National Lok Adalat was held under the chairmanship of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Puneet Gupta. As many as 56 cases pertaining to family matters and labour cases were taken up during the National Lok Adalat, out of which 32 cases were settled amicably and an amount of Rs 3600 was realized on the spot.
At Kupwara, 201 cases pertaining to family matters, labour and pre-trial family matter were taken up during the National Lok Adalat, out of which 168 cases were settled amicably and an amount of Rs 21,800 were also realized as fine on the spot.
At Kulgam, National Lok Adalat was held under the chairmanship of Principal District and Sessions Judge, who is also Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Kulgam, Subash C Gupta in collaboration Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Kulgam, CL Bavoria. As many as 250 cases pertaining to family matters and labour cases were taken up, out of which 198 cases were settled amicably and an amount of Rs 55,925 were also realized as fine on the spot.
Kargil, National Lok Adalat was held under the chairmanship of Principal, District and Sessions Judge. A total of 40 cases were disposed off and fine of Rs 8000 was also realized.
