Hanjura takes stock of damages to standing crops in RS Pura

JAMMU, Apr 12: Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today visited Badyal Brahmna, Dherian, Hansa Chak, Agra Chak, Fatehpur Salarian, Baspur Bangla, Suchetgarh, Abdul Basti and RS Pura and took stock of the damages to standing crops, including vegetable and other cultivations, due to recent rains.
Accompanied by MLA Choudhary Sham Lal, Director Agriculture Jammu Dr S S Jamwal, Director Command Area Development (CAD) Jammu H K Sharma and other officers of Agriculture, Revenue and CAD Department besides former Member Parliament Trilok Singh Bajwa and former Minister of State Gharu Ram Bhagat, the Minister interacted with the farmers at different places and assured them that every possible help would be provided by the Government to the affected. He said that Agriculture and Revenue Departments have already been asked to conduct joint survey and assess the losses and submit their report to the concerned quarters immediately so that the compensation could be given to the deserving affected people.
He said Government is aware of farmers’ problems and said that various State and Centrally Sponsored Schemes have been launched across the State for the benefit of the farming community. Hanjura also asked the concerned to issue Kissan Credit Cards to the deserving farmers.
MLA Suchetgarh Ch. Sham Lal also interacted with the farmers and highlighted the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) of PDP-BJP Coalition Government. He said Government is aware about the problems of the people living in border areas.
Enroute, several deputations met the Minister and apprised him of their problems including early compensation of damaged crops, issuance of KCCs and installation of Bore Wells. The Minister gave them a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands would be looked into on priority basis.
