NSF demands restoration of AIIMS to Jammu

JAMMU, Apr 12: Criticizing its discriminatory attitude towards the Jammu region, National Secular Forum (NSF) today protested against BJP-PDP coalition Govt for the shifting of AIIMS to Kashmir.
The protestors were led by its president Sukhdev Singh.
Addressing the gathering here today, Sukhdev Singh said BJP had been raising issue of discrimination at all the forums but ever since it joined the Government as coalition partner its leaders have themselves adopted a criminal silence.
He said, “Centre announced establishment of AIIMS in Jammu but the Kashmiri leadership manipulated the whole things and cleverly managed to say that AIIMS will be established at Kashmir but the BJP Ministers and leaders maintained absolute silence over the issue while the other regional parties have been fighting the issue on roads.”
“Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the budget session on February 28, 2015 in New Delhi explicitly announced an establishment of AIIMS in Jammu which was duly acknowledged by Dr. Jitendra Singh Union MoS, who expressed his gratitude to the Finance Minister for sanctioning the premier health institute to Jammu. The disgraceful surrender of prestigious AIIMS to Kashmir by the BJP has deprived region of having a  health institution,” expressed Sukhdev.
Flaying the Mufti led State Government for ignoring the interests of Jammu region and playing with the emotions of the people, Mr Sukhdev said that people will not tolerate discrimination at any cost and will oppose tooth and nail the discriminatory policies and anti-Jammu decisions.
He also warned the BJP leadership to mend its way and pay proper concern over the issues related to the interests of Jammu region.
Prominent among those who were present in the protest included Zulfi Singh, Jagdev Singh, Balbinder Singh ,  Anees Charak, Vimal Singh, Javed Iqbal, Varun Kumar, Navjot Singh, Sunil Kumar, Ankit Raina and Sanjeev Kumar.
