Uri reeling under ration scarcity, power crisis: Taj

SRINAGAR, Apr 12: Former Minister and senior Congress leader  Taj Mohi-ud-Din has criticised the State administration for its claims of restoring normal services in the Valley, particularly in Uri area, following recent incessant rains and floods.
Chairing workers’ meeting  at Uri  town today after touring several areas of  the constituency Mr Taj, who has represented the area in State Assembly for last 12 years, said that during his tour of  the constituency he found a number of areas still inaccessible as roads leading to these areas are blocked and no efforts are being made by the district administration to open these links to facilitate peoples’ movement.
Mr Taj, a former CAPD and Health & Medical Education Minister said that he has received complaints from several areas of Uri constituency that depots of CAPD are without ration. The people are facing lot of crisis due to scarcity of food grains.  He appealed administration to make arrangements for dispatching ration to the areas of Uri Sub Division.
The Congress leader further alleged that people in Uri are reeling under darkness and power supply has been  severely affected after recent rainfall and landslides. He said that the people are facing lot of hardships and supply to many areas has not been restored till date.
Mr Taj  appealed the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and District Administration Baramulla to pay immediate attention to the problems of people of  Uri Sub Division and take urgent steps to restore road connectivity, power  and ration supply without any more delay so that people are saved  from the  hardships they are facing.
