2 held for disrupting Baisakhi function

JAMMU, Apr 14: Miran Sahib police arrested two persons for disrupting the Baisakhi function at Kirpind by threatening the people with sharp edged weapon (sword).
As per police sources, five persons namely Sahil and Vishal, son of Natha Ram, Munish and Rishu, son of Sham Lal and Raman Kumar alias Kala, son of Dev Raj Sharma, all residents of Kirpind assaulted Abhinandan Singh, son of Shakti Singh of Kirpind during Baisakhi festival celebrations at Kirpind.
Abhinandan Singh informed the matter to his cousin brother Navjot Singh, son of Sehdev Singh of Kirpind and the latter reached the mela site along with sharp edged weapon (sword) to take revenge. Navjot Singh disrupted the function to which the people objected and informed the police.
On getting information, police team from Miran Sahib police station swung into action and arrested both Abhinandan and Navjot Singh.
The people also held protest and demanded strict action against Abhinandan and Navjot for disturbing the Baisakhi function.
Acting accordingly, police registered case against Abhinandan and Navjot under Arms Act
However, police has also registered case against the five persons, who assaulted Abhinandan Singh.
Police team led by SHO Miran Sahib police station SI Mohammad Iqbal Chagatta made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Devinder Singh and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
