JAMMU, Apr 15: Pakistani Rangers this evening resorted to ceasefire violation at Karol Karishna forward area near Bobiya in Hiranagar sector of Kathua district.
Official reports said the Rangers initially fired three rounds targeting patrol vehicle of the BSF at Karol Karishna at 5.55 pm. The BSF didn’t retaliate.
At about 6.20 pm, the Rangers again fired over dozen rounds at same forward area along the International Border. This time, the BSF retaliated to silence the Pakistani guns.
The firing stopped at around 6.40 pm.
Sources described the Pakistani firing as completely unprovoked.
There were no casualties or damage on the Indian side in the Pakistani firing, the reports said.
