JAMMU, Apr 15: A deputation of Water Works (PHE) Employees Association, (WWPHEEA) Mechanical South Division under the leadership of Shiv Kumar Sharma, State president Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) met the Executive Engineer, PHE (M) South Division.
Sharma, who is also the provincial president of the association accompanied with Ravi Kumar and general secretary highlighted and discussed the demands and problems being faced by the PHE Workers and Employees of PHE Mechanical South Division.
The deputation stressed upon the Executive Engineer to immediately release all the pending wages of Daily Wagers which have fallen in arrears for approximately 28 months.
The INTUC president suggested holding the DPC meeting twice a year so that the promotion of the eligible employees are not un-duly delayed. He complained that the DPC meeting is overdue for the last couple of years.
The deputation reminded the concerned authority that the repair work as earlier demanded is urgently required to be under taken at the earliest.
Other demands which were discussed including time bound promotions, issuing of uniforms and T&P articles, DPC meetings, repairs of machinery, providing of identify proofs, pending pay of Daily Wagers etc.
The Executive Engineer listened and discussed all the issues with patience and attention and agreed to redress and solve the issues within his competence himself and assured to take up other issues with concerned higher authorities.
The deputation included: Vinod Kumar, Raman Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Sham Lal Dingra, Vijay Gupta, Gopal Dass, Tajinder Singh, Taj, Raj Kumar, Naresh Kumar and Balbir Singh.
