PRP delegation calls on Bali Bhagat

JAMMU, Apr 16: A delegation of People’s Republican Party (PRP) today called on Minister of Forests and Social Welfare, Bali Bahgat and highlighted the problems of people in various areas of Kashmir valley before him.
The delegation stressed on opening of more Anganwari Centres in the rural areas of the State. It also complimented the Minister for taking drastic steps in making the pension process for old aged persons and destitute transparent to end corruption and also in taking a stern action against the land mafia who have encroached the forest land in the State.
The delegation which was led by PRP spokesperson, Mir Ghulam Rasool also demanded opening of forest depot in Butwani and other areas of Ganderbal district where people face many hardships in getting timber etc.
The delegation also demanded re-organization of Anganwari in the State by creating promotion avenues for the in service workers.
The other members of the delegation included PRP chairman, advocate G M Tramboo and its Baramulla district chief, Mr War.
Later Mir while expressing concern over prevailing situation in the Sub Continent said India and Pakistan should hold meaningful dialogue to settle all contentious issues including Kashmir as the people have suffered a lot due to 26 year long turmoil.
He assured full support of PRP to Government in restoration of normalcy in the State so that the common people are relieved of the tension created with day to day bandh calls and protests.
Mir urged the Government to take effective steps in settling the problems of the people of the State especially the flood victims, unemployed youth by creating employment avenues after setting up new projects and industries, boosting tourism. He demanded that the Ganderbal be made a Central place for Amarnath pilgrims by setting up a base camp here to promote the local trade etc.
He also demanded speeding up of work on Ganderbal power project and construction of more power projects on river Sindh.
