MIER organizes Alumni Meet

JAMMU, Apr 17: An Alumni Meet was organized by the Alumni and Placement Committee, MIER College of Education with an objective of bringing all the alumni on a single platform for both exchange of new ideas and professional development in addition to help renew contacts with old friends.
MIER College of Education has the distinction of producing more than 10000 trained professionals during the past 33 years.
Dr. Arun K. Gupta, Chairman MIER Group of Institutions, Dr. Renu Gupta, Director MIER, Dr. Adit Gupta, Jt. Director MIER, Dr B L Raina, HoD M.Ed, Dr. Annie Kaul, HoD B Ed General, Ms. Rohnika Sharma HoD B.Ed Special, Dr. H.R. Shan, Controller Examinations and other faculty members of MIER College of Education also graced the occasion.
Earlier, Dr. Renu Gupta presented welcome address and said that alumni are an integral part of the institution and such meets act as a home coming for them when they can reminisce about their days in the college.
She said, the meet will also enable the alumni to interact with each other and contribute towards the development of the college through their valuable suggestions.
Dr. Arun Gupta, in his presidential address said that the role of alumni has been tremendous in the meteoric rise of the institute as it is on the basis of their valuable experiences and feedback that they have been able to achieve this lofty position.
He expressed hope that this alumni meet will generate useful ideas for strengthening the college alumni relations and would go a long way in establishing a strong bond among the two. He urged them to continue pursuing knowledge, empowering themselves and meeting challenges of the times and in their progress the institute will also grow and develop.
A brief journey of the growth of the college was portrayed by Dr. Mool Raj Sharma, HoD ICT Department MIER. Highlights of some of the landmarks that the college has achieved were presented like the college being conferred with autonomous status, publishing of an internationally acclaimed Research Journal, Best College of Education in North India award, etc.
An impressive cultural program was also presented by the present batch of B.Ed.
Prizes were also given to the best performances.
Aditi Malhotra, Convener Alumni and Placement committee presented vote of thanks, while the programme was conducted by Mansi Sethi, BEd Student.
