JAMMU, Apr 18: A civil- military liaison conference (CMLC), involving officials from police of the three districts of Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar was held at Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) headquarters today.
It was chaired by Maj Gen AS Rawat, General Officer Commanding CIF (Delta) with the aim of increasing synergy, interaction and coordination between the civil and military agencies on 18 April 2015. Amongst the civil administration and police, the conference was attended by DC Ramban, DIG Batote, DIG (Ops) CRPF Jammu (North), SSP Ramban, SSP Doda, SP Kishtwar and representatives of DC Doda and Kishtwar besides other Army officials.
All officials stressed on the need for harmonious functioning of the Government agencies, Army and Police. They stated that such interactions provide opportunities for deliberation on important issues of mutual interest like security and development projects. The District Development Commissioners thanked the Army for the assistance provided during the recently conducted disaster management exercise “Hifazat-e-Awam”. An overview of security setup and upcoming events in the region was undertaken to ensure complete synergy between all security agencies and civil administration.
The civil administration was overall appreciative of the roll played by Army in helping them to develop capacities in specialized areas. Both the agencies acknowledge the need for working together towards the cause of the people and security of the state.
