KATHUA, Apr 18: The irate people protested at Sanje More in Raj Bagh area and blocked the border road in protest against the bovine smuggling and police-smugglers nexus.
The protestors blocked the road from 10 am to 2pm and also observed a complete bandh in the area against the increasing bovine smuggling and damage being caused to the standing crops by the cattle being smuggled from the area.
The protestors said that despite bringing the matter in the notice of police from last many years to maintain a check on the movement of smugglers it has failed to take cognizance with the result people have been forced to come to streets. The people of Mathe Chak and other areas participated in the protest.
