12 bovine rescued by Gadigarh police

JAMMU, Apr 18: Police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued 12 milch animals near Dharap area, falling under the jurisdiction of Gadigarh police post.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Gadigarh police post laid a naka at Dharap and signaled a truck bearing registration number JK02AC-0797 to stop.
However, the driver sped up the vehicle and tried to escape, but the vehicle was chased by the active cops of Gadigarh police post and intercepted at some distance. The driver managed to escape from the spot taking benefit of the darkness.
During checking, police team rescued 12 bovine animals, which the accused driver was smuggling to Valley. The truck was seized on the spot.
A case under FIR number 66/15 under Section 188 RPC and 2/3 PCA Act has been registered at Gadigarh police post and investigation started.
The whole operation of rescuing bovine animals was carried out by Incharge Gadigarh police post SI Arun Sharma under the supervision of SHO Satwari Inspector Kulbir Singh Choudhary, SDPO Gandhi Nagar Harjeet Singh, SP South Udhay Bhaskar Billa and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
