Cabinet likely to regularize migrant substitutes

JAMMU, Aug 8: State Cabinet, which is meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah tomorrow at Srinagar at 12.30 pm, is likely to accord approval to the regularization of several migrant substitutes working in the Health and Medical Education Department.
Authoritative sources told EXCELSIOR that these 54 substitutes, as per the details submitted by the Health and Medical Education Department to the General Administration Department, have been helping the authorities in coping up with the dearth of manpower and provided nursing care especially during the period of turmoil in the State.
After examining the case of these 54 substitutes——11 in Health Department and 43 in Medical Education, the General Administration Department approached the Chief Minister, who in order to close the issue once for all, has given nod to place these cases before the Cabinet for notification and clearance.
“Following the approval of the Cabinet, these cases will be referred to the designated committee for their regularization after proper scrutiny of their service records in accordance with the prescribed procedure”, sources said.
To a question, sources said that the possibility of Cabinet ordering some transfers in the administration cannot be ruled out.
