JAMMU, Apr 20: Governor, N.N. Vohra today released “Parwaaz-Institute to Motherhood”, a souvenir brought out by the Association of Social Health in India (ASHI), at the Government College for Women, Parade here.
The Governor, congratulated ASHI for its sustained good work, appreciated its varied activities and hoped that the organization will further expand its missionary work to particularly alleviate the problems faced by the needy and neglected sections of our society. The Governor observed that organizations like ASHI with their strong motivation and commitments can also contribute towards much needed reforms being carried out in our society and its ethical values.
Lauding the role of ASHI in empowering women, the Governor hoped that all voluntary organizations working in the three regions of the State would put in their maximum efforts in promoting education of women at all levels.
The souvenir release function was preceded by an attractive programme of songs and poetry in different languages by popular performing artists of the State.
Sushma Choudhary, Senior vice president, ASHI, read the welcome address and Seema Shekhar Khajuria, Additional Secretary, ASHI, presented the formal vote of thanks on the occasion.
