Zulfkar, Ganga review progress of development works in Samba

SAMBA, Apr 21: Minister for CA&PD Choudhary Zulfkar Ali and Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Prakash Ganga convened a meeting of officers to review the physical and financial achievements of their respective departments.
Reviewing the performance of CA&PD department, Zulfkar enquired about the stock position of rations, LPG and kerosene oil. He directed Director CA&PD to monitor the shortfall in rations and conduct survey of areas with no fair-price shops. He also asked him to formulate a plan for opening fair-price shop for every 250 population.
Minister also directed Legal Metrology Department to ensure 100% distribution of LPG and conduct market surveys to avoid any irregularity in distribution mechanism. He asked the CA&PD to ensure proper implementation of consumer protection rights and keep close vigil on hoarding, profiteering, black-marketing of essential commodities.
Minister directed Director CA&PD to ensure that ration reach before 10th of every month in each district in order to maintain proper and regular supply and fair distribution.
While reviewing the performance of other departments, Minister directed Social Welfare Department to formulate project for SC hostel and further directed them to make proposal for providing basic facilities to each hamlet of schedule tribe community which lacks basic facilities.
Minister directed DDC Samba to constitute a committee for physical verification of works done in model villages. He further reviewed performance of PHE, PWD, agriculture, handloom, PDD, rural development, education and other departments.
District Development Commissioner Samba Sheetal Nanda apprised Minister through power point presentation about the financial performance of each department and about the literacy rate and gender ratio of district Samba.
MLA Samba Devinder Manyal also apprised the ministers about various issues regarding water supply, ration availability and issues regarding construction of household latrines.
Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Prakash Ganga directed all officers to bring a true spirit of work culture, devotion and sincerity to meet the needs and aspirations of the people. He further directed officers that while formulating the plans, the basic requirements of people should be kept in mind and to prepare a comprehensive plan for development of SC, ST communities for their upliftment and betterment.
MLA Hiranagar Kuldeep Kumar, Director CAPD G.S Chib, SSP Joginder Singh, ADDC Vivek Sharma, CPO Planning Devinder Singh, ACR Sonu Pargal, other district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.
Earlier, Zulfikar laid foundation stone of Gujjar & Bakkerwal hostel at Samba.
The hostel is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 6 crore.
The Minister asked the executing agency to work on the project on fast-track basis to ensure its completion within 18 months. He also stressed for use of quality material in the construction work.
Minister for I&C, Chander Prakash Ganga, while speaking on the occasion, said that government’s priority is to provide a congenial atmosphere for everyone so that they can easily reap the benefit of various schemes meant for their betterment. He said that various reformative measures are being taken at all levels to ensure responsive and accountable dispensation to the people.
