“There is a general apprehension that the policy will lead to rampant corruption, political interference and nepotism with merit holders finding themselves in lurch”, the Provincial President said while addressing public meetings at Marh and Chibbah Panchayats in Nagrota Assembly Constituency.
He said the Government has rushed the most important issue concerning the future of youth and said the youngsters won’t allow trespass by parashooters because of their political proximity or any other reason. “The policy is fraught with the temptation of political interference which has potential of marring the career of youth”, he maintained.
Mr Rana expressed apprehension that the credibility of the recruitment process will remain a big question mark under the new policy. He said the temporary nature of appointments with rider of seven years satisfactory performance for regularisation is bound to result in uncertainty of those appointed.
The Provincial President asked the Government not to play with the career of educated youth, as those appointed will always feel a sword hanging over them. He expressed surprise over bulldozing the well established mechanism and subjecting recruitment to whims and fantasies of the ruling class.
Mr Rana said the Government should have given a serious thought to unemployment problem, as it concerns the young generation, which has been craving for jobs. “In a situation like the one prevailing in Jammu and Kashmir, transparency and fair-play is important to satiate the urges of the important segment of society,” he added.
The Provincial President sought immediate roll back of the policy and called for reinvigorating the existing recruitment agencies to ensure time bound recruitment in a transparent manner. The issue being highly sensitive, the Government should avoid indulging in misplaced misadventurism, he said, adding that his party will not allow anti-youth machinations to succeed.
