Rizvi lays stress on promoting cottage industry in rural areas

JAMMU, Apr 23: Vice-Chairman, Khadi Village Industry Board, Aga Syed Mohammad Rizvi today reviewed the working and performance of Khadi Village Industry Board(KVIB)  at a meeting held here.
Rizvi took detailed review of the objectives and achievements registered  by the Board in past one year particularly in context of promotion and development of Khadi and Village Industries and produce Khadi products, social objective of providing employment , wider objective of creating self reliance amongst people  and building up strong rural community spirit.
On his inquiry, the Vice Chairman was told that the Board has cleared 7174 cases under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in last six years thus creating employment for 49720 persons.
