Biker breaks school girl’s leg, escapes

MENDHAR, Apr 25: A bike-rider hit a school girl and escaped from the spot leaving her seriously injured on the road in Mankote area of  Mendhar in district Poonch this afternoon.
The mishap took place when the victim, along with her two friends, all students of class 11th were returning home from their school. A youth on a speeding motorcycle came from the back side and hit Khalida Begum (17), daughter of Abdul Ghani, resident of Sagra near Mankote bridge. The two other girls had narrow escape. The victim was thrown away with the massive push by the bike bearing registration No. JK-12/1309. Her leg was broken and she sustained multiple injuries. The bike rider escaped from the spot without bothering for the seriously injured girl.
The locals of the area rushed there and informed police. The girl was rushed to Mendhar hospital. The doctors provided preliminary treatment and referred her to GMC Hospital, Jammu. Her leg had been fractured and she also sustained head injury. The police registered a case  and started manhunt for the youth. Some of the students identified the accused and the police was looking for them.
