JAMMU, Apr 25: Justifying establishment of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Jammu, VHP today announced to launch a campaign in this regard.
“There is no logic in denying AIIMS to Jammu as the region sans better health care facilities”, VHP State president, Dr Rama Kant Dubey told reporters here today.
He warned the Government that in case it failed to establish an AIIMS in Jammu region and revoke its controversial recruitment policy, the VHP will be forced to join the agitation as it will not like the career of the youth to be spoiled due to anti people policies of the coalition Government.
Dr Dubey said soon a high level delegation of VHP leadership will leave for Union Capital to strongly put forward the demand regarding establishment of AIIMS in Jammu before the Union Health Minister, J P Nadda.
Dr Dubey said that people yesterday observed a total bandh against the demand for establishing AIIMS in Jammu and against the new recruitment policy of the Government. He said VHP and other social organizations fully backed the bandh and the State as well as Central Governments should seriously think for establishing of AIIMS for Jammu.
He said any delay in settling the demands will lead to unrest in Jammu and the Party who was given a massive mandate in the region will have to face the consequences in case it failed to pursue its coalition partner to concede the demand and give equal treatment to Jammu region as well.
Dr Dubey said Centre should swing into action and work for damage control. Criticizing the recruitment policy, he said that surrendered militants are given monthly assistance of Rs 3000 to Rs 5000 while the deserving and nationalist youth have been subjected to humiliation and mental torture with the announcement of new recruitment policy.
He said the Government should take immediate decision in this regard and it should not let the situation to go beyond the control.
