JAMMU, Apr 25: In response to the demand of the veterans of Sunderbani area, an impressive veterans rally was organised by the Kalidhar Brigade at Sunderbani on today.
The rally was inaugurated by General Officer Commanding, Crossed Swords Division, who in his inaugural remarks, reiterated the commitment of the Division towards supporting welfare schemes and measures for improvement and upliftment of the veterans and Veer Naris of the region. The rally was attended by 755 veterans and 17 `Veer Naris’.
Deputy Director Resettlement, Northern Command, Zila Sainik Welfare Officer Maj RS Thakur (Retired), president Jammu & Kashmir Veterans league Major General GS Jamwal (Retd) and officers of Kalidhar brigade also appraised the veterans regarding the various schemes/ programmes being organised for their benefit.
The rally was principally aimed at addressing relevant issues pertaining to health services for the veterans and acquaint them with various schemes and plans for enhancing their quality of life even after retirement. They were also informed about the welfare and financial schemes available for them like pension related information, Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), post retirement schemes, bank loan facilities and service opportunities available after retirement.
