Cabinet nod to proposal on migrant substitutes

SRINAGAR, Aug 9: State Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah here this afternoon, gave nod to the regularization of migrant substitutes of the Health and Medical Education Department.
Official sources told EXCELSIOR that the proposal received the approval as these 54 substitutes have been helping the authorities in coping up with the dearth of manpower and provided nursing care especially during the period of turmoil in the State. Of these 54 substitutes—11 are in Health Department and 43 in Medical Education.
The Cabinet also approved re-employment of Director and Deputy Director, Forensic Science Laboratory on contractual basis and regularization of Jia Lal Sharma against the post of Director Horticulture, Jammu.
However, the proposal regarding modification in the existing contours of Voluntary Retirement/ Golden Handshake Schemes was deferred for discussion on the issue with the Industries and Commerce Department.
