KATHMANDU/NEW DELHI : Fresh aftershocks jolted the quake-ravaged Nepal this morning while the death toll mounted to 4,310 and rescue teams raced to new areas in last ditch attempts to pull out survivors from heaps of debris.
According to latest reports, at least 8,000 people were injured and many of them still battling for survival. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took stock of situation and directed two union ministers to visit the affected areas in Bihar where more than 56 people died. Schools and colleges would remain closed today too in affected areas of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. As spectre of epidemic looms large in Nepal, more medical teams with medicines have been rushed to Kathmandu and other areas. Thousands of panic-stricken people remained on streets for the fourth consecutive day today as aftershocks continued. (AGENCIES)
