JU Law School students adjudged as “Spirit of Stetson”

JAMMU, Apr 28:  The Law School, University of Jammu, participated in the Stetson University College of Law 19th Annual International Environmental Moot-Court Competition, International Finals, held as the Stetson Campus at Gulfport, Florida, USA.
A total of 13 teams participated from all over the world, out of which five teams were from India that had qualified the National Rounds held at The Law School, University of Jammu in November 2014. The Law School team, University of Jammu participated in four rounds against the teams from Ateneo de Manila University School of Law, Wake Forest School of Law, University of Cebu and The Law School of China University of Political Science and Law.
The team members Rajdeep Singh Thakur and Prashant Kargotra received participating certificates for “Demonstrating superior appellate advocacy skills and knowledge of International Environmental Law”. The Law School, University of Jammu was adjudged as The “Spirit of Stetson” which recognized civility, justice and fair play.
JU Vice-Chancellor, Prof R D Sharma  has applauded  the efforts of The Law School fraternity in general and moot court committee in particular towards nurturing of the students in practical aspect of law and mooting techniques.
