Offices found locked, number of employees absent from duties

RAJOURI, Apr 30:   Major dereliction of duty on the part of Government officials came to fore when several offices were found close and employees absent from duty during surprise inspection conducted by a team of district administration.
As per reports, district administration received complaints about dereliction of duty and ill functioning of Government offices in Kotranka after which a team of district administration under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Deepti Uppal visited the area and inspected several offices about 12:40 PM.
During inspection of Tehsil Supply Officers Office Kotranka and Tehsil Social Welfare Office Kotranka, both these offices were found close and all employees were absent from duty.
In BDO Office, only a Guard was found present and all rest staff members were absent whereas in Sheep Husbandry office, only one Chemist was on duty while rest of the staff was absent. In the office of Zonal Education Officer Kotranka, only two Masters were found present on duty
During inspection in Agriculture Office Kotranka, only one clerk was present and rest staff was absent whereas in Tehsil Revenue Office, only Naib Tehsildar and one peon were found present. In the office of Power Development Department, only two linemen were present. Similarly in Animal Husbandry Department, only one peon was found present and rest staff members were absent. In Range Office Kotranka, only one Forester and one peon were present whereas in PWD office Kotranka, only one peon was present and rest all staff members were absent.
In SDM Office Kotranka, only one teacher namely Abdul Salam was present and rest all officials were absent from duty.
Taking a strong notice of such large scale dereliction in duty by Government officials, the DDC has directed all the controlling officers to issue show cause notices to the erring officials.
