J&K Bank holds awareness camps in Baramulla, Kupwara

SRINAGAR, May 1: J&K Bank conducted various financial literacy camps at separate places in Baramulla and Kupwara wherein a large section of the society participated.
The bank’s FLCC Baramulla center organized an awareness and couselling camp reagarding Prime Ministers Jan Dhan Yojna and other schemes of the bank in collaboration with Reserve Bank of India and the bank’s business unit Wagoora at Government Higher Secondary School in Wagoora village.
Led by the Vice-Principal of the school, students and faculty members attended the camp.
Facilitator FLCC Baramulla Mohammad Sultan Dar spoke about the basics of financial planning, budgeting, essential and non essential expenses, advantages of savings with banks, concept of Business Correspondents, ultra small branches, khidmat centres and different types of borrowings.
He also educated the audience about Education Loan besides Kissan Credit Card and various income generating loan products of banks.
He dwelt in detail on the Prime Ministers Jan Dhan Yojna and its objective of comprehensive coverage of all the financially excluded households in the country by a six pillar approach in two phases.
Lead District Officer (RBI) Ashok Kumar spoke about the role and functioning of Reserve Bank of India at length.
LDM Barmulla also spoke on the occasion.
Meanwhile, FLCC Kupwara organized a financial literacy camp in collaboration with Lead Bank Office and the Bank’s BU Drugmulla at Chail Patti Kupwara, which was attended by senior citizens, farmers, businessmen and traders along with a good number of women.
Facilitator FLCC Kupwara informed the audience about opening of different accounts particularly the savings bank, other deposit accounts with the banks.
He also spoke about the importance of financial inclusion for overall development of economy of the society and urged the people to open accounts with them at least one account for one family and avail the  benefits under various people friendly schemes in general and PMJDY schemes in particular.
