NEW DELHI, May 2: The Modi government at the Centre has given a categorical assurance that it has no plans to formulate a policy to censor the content of the Internet.
Ministry of Communications and Information sources here however said, the Information Technology Guidelines (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules 2011 under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act 2000 require that the Intermediaries will observe due diligence while discharging their duties and inform the users of computers not to host, display ,upload, modify ,publish, transmit, or share any information that is harmful, objectionable, affects minors and unlawful in anyway.
