Three killed, one injured in separate road mishaps

JAMMU, May 2: Three persons including an 11-year old child were killed while a lady got injured in two separate road mishaps in city outskirts
An elderly man and his 11-year-old grand daughter were killed while his daughter was injured when a speeding car hit the bike they were riding on, near Tanda area falling under the jurisdiction of police station Miran Sahib.
The mishap occurred early this morning when the bike bearing registration number JK02AN-0402 collided with a Winger car (having registration number JK02BB-3881) near Tanda Kalan Road in RS Pura sector.
In the mishap, all the three occupants of the bike received serious injuries. They were immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu. However, the motorcyclist Mohinder Singh (60) died on the way to hospital and his granddaughter namely Simranjeet Kour succumbed to her injuries in the hospital while the condition of Ravinder Kour (35), the mother of Simranjeet Kour, is stated to be critical.
Four more people, including school teachers also received minor injuries in the mishap.
A case in this regard has been registered at police station Miran Sahib. Both the vehicles involved in the mishap have also been seized by the police and efforts are on to nab the accused driver, who managed to flee from the spot.
Meanwhile, a scooty-borne man was killed on the spot when a speeding tipper bearing registration number JK02AS-6055 hit his two-wheeler (having registration number JK02BA-1768) near Rani Talab, in Digiana area of city outskirts, this morning. In unconscious, the blood-ridden man was immediately rushed to GMCH, Jammu, where doctors declared him as brought dead.
After conducting postmortem, the body of the deceased identified as Vikram Mahajan (40-45) son of Vijay Kumar, a resident of Nanak Nagar, was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites. After registering a case in this regard, police has arrested the accused tipper driver namely Faqir Chand son of Beli Ram, a resident of Chatta-Satwari. Also, both the vehicles involved in the accident have been seized by the police.
