JAMMU, May 3: A seven-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped by a youth in village Sujadpur falling under the jurisdiction of police station Domana.
According to a police spokesperson, the accused, identified as Sohan Lal (23), a resident of village Sujadpur in Marh area of city outskirts, abducted a girl of his own village last evening when she was going to a nearby shop to purchase some goods.
He said that the accused took her to a secluded place and raped her there. When the girl did not return home, her father launched a search operation and found the girl crying in some bushes at a lonely place.
On enquiry the girl narrated the incident to the father who then lodged a complaint with police station Domana.
The police shifted the victim girl to SMGS Hospital, Jammu for medical examination, which confirmed rape.
“The condition of the girl is stated to be critical as she has sustained several severe internal injuries and her internal organs have ruptured,” the official said, adding the accused has been arrested and booked under relevant sections.
