Koul address BJP, BJYM meetings in Valley

SRINAGAR, Aug 10: To strengthen the roots of the party in the Valley BJP state general secretary (Organisation.), Ashok Koul along with State BJYM President Munish Sharma paid a four-day visit to the different areas of Kashmir and interacted with party activists at different places.
While addressing the meetings Ashok Koul said that to increase the party hold in the Valley the BJP workers should reach the general masses and must take the stock of their problems which they have been facing since a long time due to the misrule of NC- Congress led coalition Government. Further, he stressed on  importance of membership drive and also said that a target of registering 2,00,000 members with the party has been taken by the State unit. He also directed the Kashmir unit leaders to increase their membership and take this membership drive as a festival.
Under the leadership of Arif Raja, District President of BJYM, Srinagar an impressive function was organized in Srinagar where State BJYM President Munish Sharma was the chief guest. Several young volunteers joined BJYM. The function was primarily organized as “Yuva Jodo Abhiyaan” of BJYM at State level which is being followed with greater zeal in the State.
Mr Sharma stressed on the Kashmiri leaders to make the youth of Valley understand that it is only BJYM which is committed to welfare of the youth. He stressed upon the implementation of 73rd and 74th amendment. He also said that two years have passed since the Panchs and Sarpanchs have been elected but still their powers have been restricted to a limit. He blamed both NC and PDP for misleading the youth.
Other prominent leaders who attended the meeting were Seh Prabhari Kashmir unit Dr. Ali Mohd. Mir, BJP District Srinagar unit President Ashraf Rishi, Manzoor Kulgami, Altaf Thakur, Ashiq Hussain Dar, Bashir Ahmed, Nazir Khan and others.
