IGP Rlys for enhanced patrolling on tracks

JAMMU, Aug 10: IGP Railways, J&K, Abdul Qayoom Manhas has stressed the need for enhancing patrolling on the railway tracks.
Reviewing the security arrangements in view of Independence Day celebrations in a meeting of senior officers, Mr Manhas said that Divisional Railways Manager (DRM), Ferozepur Division has been approached for providing track trolley for better patrolling of the tracks during the night hours.
“Though GRP personnel have been effectively patrolling the tracks yet the facility of trolley would be of immense help particularly during the night hours”, he said.
The IGP, paid visit to GRP Jammu and held darbar in the GRP Lines to listen the grievances of jawans and ensure redressal of the same, also ordered immediate removal of concertina wires from outside the Jammu Railway Station as per the directions of the State High Court.
He discussed the security matters with the officers and passed on necessary instructions to all for keeping the railways incident free. He asked the officers as well as jawans to remain alert and coordinated to thwart any attempt of the enemies.
The IGP also visited the platforms to take stock of the deployment.
