Discrimination “a holding on”

Vinod Verma
The Popcorn kernel is small, hard, indigestible and seemingly worth less, but put in a pot and hold it over the fire, and it’ll be transformed before your eyes. Sometimes Discrimination  can do the same for you. It is difficult for people to admit wrongs. Usually we try to find excuses  and defend ourselves. This is something which is negative and destructive in almost everyone. We must be able to balance the negative &  positive. Balancing does not mean that the negative has to be given up. In fact, the absence of negative element can create disaster. The negative is like a “holding -on”. It brings stability. What is photograph  any way? It is nothing -a negative-just a psychological “holding-on”. A photograph will help you remember the teaching, feeling, mood or act for those not yet developed enough to go beyond the photograph. Therefore, if you should take the photograph away, they might break down, since they have nothing to lean on.  So before anything is taken away something  must be given first. The balance between negative and positive is so important in life.
Most People can talk about others for hours and are as stimulated by poisonous  gossip as  by intoxicating  wine. It is not strange that such persons can easily, joyously and with caustic criticism talk about the faults of others, yet cannot endure at all any reference to their own faults. Someone must challenge you. Otherwise you will not be stimulated. If someone calls you a fool, that presents a stimulation. It means that you are going to be wise. The negative statement serves as an object of stimulation, so that you can bring balance to your life which reflects the state of new joy.
Where is the balance for someone who sits and watches T.V all day? Naturally at the days end, that person complains of pains and aches everywhere. It is only logical. One of the principles of human body is that it needs movement, exercise or how about those who go to super market and cannot resist temptation? They buy too much. Then that mistake is compounded by the mistake of eating too much. That again is compounded by doing no exercise, sitting too much, watching T.V. too much. So there is no balanced diet, no exercise, no healthy thought, no discrimination. The mistakes are committed and then come the complaints. But when people are discriminating they can  overcome many things. A man sliding down the path of undue tendencies finds less resistance, but as soon as he tries to oppose his wrong habits by following discipline he finds countless  instinctive temptations sourced to fight and frequently foil his noble efforts. The main efforts should be to convert oneself. It is difficult thing to change because it is so deeply embedded in a crust of habits  we are not even aware of, we are held prisoner bound by our own particular thoughts, moods & emotions. Try to change one little habit and see how difficult it is! Tell yourself not to be egoistic, Tell yourself not to be jealous, Tell yourself not to be  critical, tell yourself not to renunciate. It seems impossible to change. Is there no hope? Certainly there is, If one works on own flaws instead changing the people and situation around you.  That is what I beg you to learn.
Long after the lips of all of us here are sealed, it becomes imperative to learn to be master of ownself & people and situations around you.
Man  must develop the power of senses. Everyone demonstrates the power of perceptions which keep through the loopholes of stimulation produced in the interwoven materials of thoughts and two edged swords of criticisms. By destructive criticism, you push a person deeper into the mire of despondency.  When you take away a person’s sense of dignity by openly maligning him, you make him desperate. But one must accept the “constructive criticism” when offered. We should be ready to accept our mis-talks, misdeeds done and should not boil inwardly and outwardly to put your invalid viewpoints. Wrongs should not be allowed to breed in the ambience.  Weeds have to be removed if the crop has to grow. It requires proper ploughing of the surrounding with intellect, watering   properly with wisdom and helping them to grow in right direction with support & encouragement.
There is a fine line between being encouraging    and ignoring the attempt to address vital issues relevant. Discrimination and dialogue is intense and interactive glimpse of the practical focus. Workflow isn’t supposed to be the side show in the circus of life. It’s supposed to take up all the rings-discrimination, criticism, specific direction and definition. Everyone has potential, just have to discover it . If you can’t go around it, go over it. If you can’t go over it, sit down and ask yourself if getting to the other side is all that Balance. If it is; Set about digging a tunnel. Nothing great was ever achieved by only sitting still. Discrimination is an expensive gift which should be taken freely.
