JAMMU, May 9: To carry out slope stabilization work and for the safety of pilgrims, the new track of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine from Adh Kunwari to Bhawan will remain closed for four hours for one month from tomorrow onwards.
According to CEO, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), Mandeep K Bhandari, the new track of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi will remain closed from 11 am to 4 pm for one month from tomorrow.
“During 11 am to 4 pm, the yatra will continue from the old track. Before 11 am and after 4 pm, the pilgrims can also take new track for yatra”, he added.
He stated that the track has been closed to carry out the work of slope stabilization so that the shooting stones could not harm the pilgrims.
The Geobrugg AG and Pioneer Foundation Engineers, Mumbai (companies engaged for the stone stabilization work) has been directed to complete the work within one month, he said, adding that the areas where there is dire need to carry out work of slope stabilization are Adh Kunwari, Devi Dawar, Panchi Staff Colony and Battery Car area.
