JAMMU, May 9: Minister for Health and Medical Education Department, ARI and Trainings Ch Lal Singh today inaugurated a branch of Andhra Bank at Guru Nanak Nagar.
Speaking on the occasion, Ch Lal Singh congratulated the bank for expanding its services in the State and said that opening of the new business units by the bank will provide better services to the people .He said that people of the area will also be facilitated by the services offered by the bank.
Stressing the important role of banks the Minister asked the banking institutions to extend their reach, in order to support inclusive growth. He asked the banks to reach out to rural and unbanked areas of the State to give impetus to the economic and business activities in the State. He said that banks should offer hassle free services to provide financial assistance for self employment ventures to improve the socio economic status of the people.
The Minister was apprised by Branch Manager, Bishwajit Kumar Nandi that Andhra Bank is one of leading bank in Government undertaking banks. He said that the bank has been expanding its business in North India and there are sixty-four branches in Ludhiana Zone, sixty branches in Punjab and four in J& K. All over India the bank has 2507 branches.
On the occasion, Zonal Manager informed the people about different scheme of Andhra Bank.

MLC S. Charanjit Singh Khalsa, D. K Tyagi Zonal Manager, Ludhiana Branch Manager Swendra Rajdan participated in function. Senior bank functionaries and prominent citizens in large numbers were present on the occasion.
