JAMMU, May 11: Jagti Coordination Committee (JCC) Nagrota in its meeting today reiterated the construction of a separate township for displaced Pandits in Valley.
The meeting which was chaired by JCC chief Ravi Zutshi said how Pandits can go back to their original places as the land belonging to them has either been encroached or was sold under distress sale.
The meeting also criticized the Chief Minister for changing his stance on composite township for Pandits in Valley under the pressure of Hurriyat and other separatist organizations despite the fact that he had earlier showed his willingness for the same.
The meeting expressed grave concern over the encroachment of land of the Pandits and their religious places by some vested elements in the Valley and failure of the Government to restore the same.
The meeting demanded that besides settling Pandits in a composite township in the Valley the community be given minority status and political empowerment.
