2 Samba youth killed in Punjab

JAMMU, May 13: Two youth from Vijaypur area in Samba district were killed while two others are serious after their Santro car bearing Registration Number JK 21 A -7788 was hit by an unknown vehicle at  Jandwal falling under the jurisdiction of Mukerian Police Station, Punjab on  Pathankot-Jallandhar National Highway at 4 pm today.
The two youth breathed their last on spot while two injured have been admitted in Niman Hospital near Mukerian in a serious condition.
They were on their way from Vijaypur to Mohali -Punjab to witness the IPL cricket match between Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings to be played there on May 16. Police said that the Santro car was hit by an unknown vehicle which fled after the accident.
The passers by informed the Police Post Pangla and the cops on duty swung into action and shifted all the four to a local hospital. However, the two were declared as brought dead by the doctors while the other two are undergoing treatment in the Hospital.
The Pangla Police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law. The deceased have been identified as Deepak Sharma, S/o Manohar Lal and Raghav S/o Rakesh Sharma both residents of Vijaypur in Samba district. The two injured youth have been identified as Jeet Ram S/o Pala Ram and Kapil S/o Prem Bali of Vijaypur. The Mukerian Police has flashed the information to J&K Police in this regard. The dead bodies will be handed over to respective families after postmortem tomorrow for last rites.
