JAMMU, Aug 11: Panun Kashmir (PK) during its interactive session with community members here today discussed the political developments having direct bearing on the future of the community.
The meeting was also attended by the leaders of some socio-political organizations. The focus of the meet was ill conceived return policy of the Government that has created a sense of despondency and desperation among the youth of the community who have joined employment in Kashmir and who have been issued threats to leave the Valley, a handout issued here today by the organization said.
The meeting also chalked out the programme for KP Martyrs’ Day falling on September 14 which is observed every year to pay respectful homage to the KPs and other nationalist forces who have been martyred by the terrorists inspired by Kashmiri secessionism and fundamentalism.
Addressing the meeting PK chairman Dr Ajay Chrungoo said the threats issued by the militants to KP youth serving in Valley under employment package reveal the inherent flaw in the policy of return being show cased as PM’s package. The policy does not take into account the genocide and refoulment that led to the displacement of entire KP population from their ancestral homeland Kashmir. This policy has proved that it is the continuation of genocide of the community by other means’’.
Dr Chrungoo said the sacrifices of the martyrs of the community who withstood the  forces of communalism in Kashmir and laid down their lives to uphold the Indian nationhood have more significance today as it motivates us in this atmosphere of state imposed despondency to give a proper direction to the community youth in general and community in particular.
Dr Chrungoo while expressing his concern over the plight of the migrant employees who have received the threats reiterated the demand that female employees be posted outside Valley as they are pressing hard for the same.
Others present in the Valley included P L Raina, Raj Nath Raina and Pt O N Trisal.
