JAMMU, May 15: The staff of Drugs & Food Control Organization (DFCO) lifted 26 samples of Drugs to check its identity, strength and purity. These samples have been dispatched to State Drug Testing Laboratories for opinion.
Meanwhile, the operations of three retail sale establishments namely M/s Janat Medicos, Bakshi Nagar ; M/s Dadool HealthCare, Ghagwal; M/s Satguru Medicos, Ghagwal, Samba have been suspended by the Licensing Authority, Jammu and Samba after satisfying that the said establishments had committed breaches of the provisions of Drugs & Cosmetics Act,1940 & rules there under. This was stated in an official handout issued here today.
In separate exercise operations of company depot of M/s FDC Limited was disallowed till such time necessary compliance/changes in the permitted premises is carried out by the company to ensure that stocks of drugs lying there are stored at appropriate temperature conditions.
The Godown of M/s New Express Cargo Carrier, Narwal was also checked and it was found that medicines booked by M/s Medichem Enterprises for M/s B.A Traders contain certain medicinal preparations batch numbers which did not tally with the invoice number 468 dated 11.05.2015 raised by M/s Medichem Enterprises. All these stocks have been freezed for 20 days by issuing order under Form 15 to the said Transporter. Further, Investigations is in progress.
It has also been observed by the Inspectorate Staff that the Date Expired Drugs recalled by the manufacturers from the market are being booked to its principle presumably for carrying out its disposal at a centralized location.
The Licensing Authority (Wholesale) Jammu Division has issued directions to the Licencees that such drugs (Expired Drugs) should be disposed off within State borders after preparing inventory in presence of a representative from State Drug Control followed by incineration. This process needs to be executed by following pollution control norms violators shall be inviting strict action under rules.
