UDHAMPUR, May 17: Minister of State for Finance and Information Technology, Pawan Kumar Gupta was honored at an impressive function organized by Jagriti Old Age Home here today.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the Government has taken several initiatives for the welfare of the distressed classes, yet he assured all possible help to the old age home to further improve it. He said that present Government was committed to provide corruption free, transparent and accountable Governance, besides providing improved basic facilities to the people.
He maintained that Rs 20 crore have been sanctioned for various developmental activities like black topping of various roads in Udhampur city and peripheral areas. He informed the gathering that tendering process has already been completed for Tikri to Katra road, besides 45 hand pumps have been installed in Udhampur.
Among others, R C Nagar, President Old Age Home, prominent citizens of the area and a large gathering were present on the occasion.
