SRINAGAR, May 18: The Government today formed a Cabinet Sub-Committee (CSC) to look into the new recruitment policy and submit its recommendations before June 1 this year.
The spokesman of the Government and Education Minister, Naeem Akhtar told a hurriedly arranged press conference soon after the Cabinet meeting here. “The Cabinet formed a Sub-Committee headed by Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh to look into the Recruitment Policy announced by the Government earlier.”
Akhtar said Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu, Health Minister Lal Singh, PHE Minister Sukhnandan Kumar and Law Minister Basharat Bukhari will be the other members of the committee. “The committee has been asked to give its recommendations before June 1 this year,” he added.
The spokesman said the Sub-Committee as there was reservations expressed by some sections of the society regarding the Government’s new recruitment policy. “We believe in taking everyone along, hence this decision was taken,” he added.
The policy was criticized by opposition National Conference and Congress besides various Civil Society groups and demanded its roll back.
Akhtar said that Cabinet took several other decisions including sanctioning of land for power and road projects in the State. “The Cabinet ordered transfer of land to four small power projects in Udhampur, Anantnag and Sindh areas,” he said.
Akhtar said the Cabinet also approved amendment to the State Legal Services Authority Act to bring at par with the national legislation. “As per the national law, a judicial officer has to be appointed as the Secretary to the Legal Services Authority. The Cabinet approved this amendment,” he said.
The Cabinet accorded sanction to the creation of 21 posts of faculty members for Government Medical College, Jammu and Government Medical College, Srinagar.
The posts have been created to address the shortage of faculty in these Hospitals. These include one post each of Professor and Associate Professor in Gynae & Obstetrics department, two posts each of Professor and Associate Professor in Orthopedics department, one post of Professor in Anesthesia, one post of Professor in Ophthalmology, one post of Professor Physiology department and one post of Associate Professor each in Pharmacology and Surgery department in GMC, Jammu.
Similarly, in GMC, Srinagar, the faculty posts created include three posts of Professors and two posts of Associate Professors in Gynae & Obstetrics, two posts of Professors in Pediatrics and one post of Associate Professor in Pharmacology and two posts of Associate Professors in Surgery Departments.
The Cabinet also ordered transfers and postings in R&B, PDD and PHE departments.
Abdul Hamid Sheikh, Chief Engineer, R&B, Jammu, shall report to the Administrative Department for further posting.
D.D Gorkha, Chief Engineer, PMGSY, Jammu has been transferred and posted as Chief Engineer PMGSY thereby relieving A.K. Gandotra SE, PMGSY Kashmir of the charge of Chief Engineer, PMGSY Kashmir .
Raman Puri, Chief Engineer, Project Organization, (Mughal Road), has been transferred and Posted as Chief Engineer, SKIMS, Soura.
Alok Mengi, Chief Engineer ERA, has been transferred and Posted as Chief Engineer R&B Jammu.
Nayeem Ahmad, Chief Engineer, SKIMS, Soura has been transferred and Posted as Chief Engineer, PMGSY Jammu.
Ravinder Kumar Gupta, Chief Engineer, Chenab Valley Power Corporation has been transferred and Posted as Chief Engineer, Project Organization (Mughal Road) with additional charge of Chenab Valley Power Corporation.
Ravinder Kumar Raina, Chief Engineer, awaiting orders of adjustment in the administrative Department has been posted as Chief Engineer ERA, Jammu.
Amresh Raina, Director Stores and Procurement Department with additional Charge of Chief Engineer Mechanical Kashmir shall report to Administrative Department for further posting.
In the meanwhile, and as purely temporary measures, Deepak Razdan, Chief Engineer Mechanical Jammu will hold additionally the charge of Director Stores and Procurement Department and Rajnesh Bal, SE, PHE (Mech) -Circle South Srinagar will look after the work of Chief Engineer Mechanical Kashmir in addition to his own duty.
Ravi Chanyal, Incharge Chief Engineer, Planning and Design Wing J&K, has been transferred and posted as Incharge Chief Engineer, Systems and operations wing, Jammu relieving Ajay Gupta, Incharge Chief Engineer, Electric Maintenance and Rural Electrification Wing, Jammu of the additional Charge.
Som Raj Sharma has been recalled from deputation to J&K SPDCL and posted as Incharge Chief Engineer, Planning and Design Wing J&K.
Asgar Ali Majaz, Secretary (Technical), Power Development Department has been assigned additional charge of the post of Executive Director (Electrical) J&K SPDCL in addition to his existing responsibilities.
Cabinet also approved placement of Muzaffer Lanker, Chief Engineer, PHE Department, Kashmir, working in Pay Band-IV ((37400-67000) GP 8700, as Executive Director in the J&K SPDC in the pay band of 37400-67000 Grade pay 8900 against the available vacancy with immediate effect.
Ahmad Muzaffer Lanker, Chief Engineer, PHE Department, Kashmir on his promotion as Executive Director has been transferred and posted as Executive Director, J&K SPDC against the available vacancy.
