UDHAMPUR May 18: A young girl was injured and a buffalo died when lightning struck in village Kawa, here this evening.
Reports said that 23 year old Bharti Devi, daughter of Hukam Chand of Kawa was standing near her home when lightning struck the area. The girl sustained serious burn injuries while a buffalo died on the spot due to lightning. Locals shifted the injured girl to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors referred her to GMC Hospital Jammu.
