Javed Rana demands economic package for border people

MENDHAR, May 19: Member Legislative Assembly Mendhar Javed Ahmed Rana today called for opening more routes on cross LoC-trade between India and Pakistan.
While addressing a gathering at Behroti in Tehsile Balakote, National Conference MLA said that in the wake of India and Pakistan mulling to deepen their economic engagement, the two neighboring countries should promote cross- LoC trade and also open more routes.
The SDPO, Tehsildar, BMO,AEE PHE ,PDD ,BDO Mendhar and other officials of Social Welfare, R&B and district officers of Science and Technology were also present on the occasion.
He said the cross- LoC trade can be promoted and encouraged when it is relieved of barter system and ensuring proper transportation and banking facilities and communication link between the India and Pakistan. He urged both the counties to remove the obstacles hindering the cross-LoC trade via Chakkan Da Bagh and Muzaffarabad road. He said that the opening of more routes would not only enhance people to people contact, but also give considerable fillip to trade activities.
He also expressed hope that relations between India and Pakistan will improve further and enhance trade and transport activities.
While appreciating the people of boarder areas, Mr. Rana demanded economic package for the overall development of people living on LoC from Poonch Rajouri to Uri Karnah. He said that the Government Jammu and Kashmir as well the Centre should fulfill promises made during election for allotment of five marlas plot and strengthening socio-economic condition of border people.
On this occasion, several issues and demands were projected by the people of regarding regular supply of electricity, water, and road connectivity, installation of mobile tower and up gradation of School.
