DEA holds meet, discusses demands

JAMMU, May 20:  A meeting of All Diploma Engineers Association (DEA) was held under the presidentship of  Upinder Singh in which large number of Diploma engineers from various wings of PHE, I&FC, REW and PDD participated.
Addressing the cadre, Mr Singh criticized the callous attitude of the administration towards Diploma Engineers. He told that despite number of representations to the administration, the cadre is being denied its quota of 20% in promotions at the level of Assistant Engineer, Assistant Executive Engineer and Executive Engineer.
He demanded immediate release of promotion lists from the posts of Junior Engineer to Assistant Engineer, Assistant Engineer to Assistant Executive Engineer and Assistant Executive Engineer to Executive Engineer in PHE, R&B( PW Department) and PDD.
Vijay Sharma, general secretary of the Association warned the administration that Association may take the course of agitation if it continued with the dallying policy while considering promotions of Diploma engineers.
On the occasion,  J S Rathore was elected as convener of the Association. The meeting was attended by its central body office bearers including executive members and office bearers of all the district units.
